Check out Brooklyn-based singer/songwriters Lucia “Loosh” Stavros of Green Glass hitting the road in a few days on October 27th with Maria Neckam. The solo artists are joining Philly-based acts on tour to unite behind the power of female unity and music.
Stavros and Neckam perform a show presented by The Femme Collective Philly on November 3rd 8pm at the Barbary with LuluWish, Tiny Hueman, and Little Strike, and with Edy Blue November 5th at the Velvet Lounge in Washington D.C. as well as making stops in Burlington VT, Manchester NH, Montreal QC.
Stavros was featured on Elevtr back in September of 2015 when I went to a local show every night for almost 6 months straight to launch the blog and stumbled upon them at defunct The Manhattan Inn. She describes her brand of music as, “progressive rock stylings and deep grooves with uncharted harmonic movement on harp,” and it makes sense, the instrumentation in her work does play off of classical elements but they fire away in a modern and rhythmically groovy storm that compels you to move.
Stavros is set to perform all original material including selections from the debut album scheduled for release in 2018 by her five-piece band Green and Glass, if you haven’t had a chance to see them locally, be sure to do that once the tour ends, you can follow them here.
Maria Neckam is an Austrian-born, Brooklyn-based singer and songwriter that writes moving contemporary pieces both using empty space and pointed melodies with intention. The duo of Neckam and Stravos are absolutely a treat for both instrumentalist lovers and fans of indie pop rife with jazz voicings.
