“Brooklyn inspires some of the most beautiful tapestries from all walks of life. Archie Pelago is a production and live performance trio based in Brooklyn, NY that Formed in late 2010, the trio of Hirshi (trumpet/DJ), Cosmo D (cello/Ableton) and Kroba (sax/Ableton.) Their varied backgrounds in jazz and classical music with a common love for rhythm and the wide-open possibilities of electronic music bend sonic familiarity with what just feels right.   

In the studio, the three produce collectively and prominently feature their instruments, lending deeply emotive patterns and textures to their tracks. On the stage, the group innovatively combines DJ-style performance with live playing and processing of their instruments, conjuring singular renditions of their original works as well as music that inspires them. The Lakeside Obelisk EP is a hallmark of this singular sonic achievement—on “Saturn V,” they are blending indistinct harmonic female vocal samples that lend to a worldly atmosphere, while others feature drum & bass BPM’s that get your pulse moving. It’s music for walking when words won’t due, music when silence is too barren, the texture is just clean enough to not intrude on your state of mind.”
