“Pacific Air was from Cali so hard, from their haircuts to general demeanor: and the music followed suit. They had this Jimmy Eat World quality to them but lean ambient-pop-punk. They manage to make their harder sections very consistent to their easy going tunes. Neither felt like an absence from one or another, but rather a drive out west.”
Notables: A bossa nova groove with a drum machine counting the track in made me ask where is PA going with this? It then edged toward tribal desert like and I was convinced these guys are doing nothing but peyote out West, and I gladly welcome it. They manage to make all of this beautiful.
