“When Immigrants are under attack what do we do? STAND UP FIGHT BACK! When Muslim’s are under attack what do we do? STAND UP FIGHT BACK!”

The Chants heard blocks away carried by the cool icy air in New York City’s Washington Square Park Thursday night. Thousands of protesters gathered to show their solidarity with the Muslim community, to denounce Trump’s tax scam, and stand with DACA recipients, the hundreds of thousands many of which have America as the only country they’ve ever known facing the uncertainty of their status to live, work and contribute to our society.

Speaking beneath the park’s iconic arch, Muslim civil rights advocates and politicians described Trump’s vision for America as at odds with his hometown’s history as a welcoming sanctuary city for people of all faiths, races and immigration status.

Last Friday the U.S. Senate passed a Tax Scam that will devastate poor people, increase taxes on the working class, and give tax cuts to the 1%.

Since October 5, 2017, over 10,000 DACA recipients have lost their protections to work and live legally, putting them at risk for deportation.
