“Former Long Island Indie band As Tall As Lion’s members Julio Tavares and Cliff Sarcona, are back with their L.A. based The Black And The White project after a major robbery almost halted their careers at a time they were just picking up steam (From playing festivals to joining Cage The Elephant on tour). Releasing an aptly titled, “I Want You Back,” their latest single is an instant earworm, the musicianship they bring to the table for this very current Electronic-Indie-Live Instrumentation arena however makes their tunes stand out from the rest. Julio and Cliff were a drum and bass duo that you could argue as one of the most underrated duo’s of the circa 2000’s indie rock field. Now outfitted with a new band and Tavares taking on lead vocals; hitting those Prince-esque high notes and strapping on a guitar, the band continues to carve out the Musician in their music, combining both modern dance beats and break down synths with a mature soul and musical wisdom to boot. Just over 10 months ago all of their instruments, gear, and vehicle were stolen, today, a mountain of faith and a song to cast the clouds away.”
