Dawn Of Midi Announced For Radiohead’s NYC Tour Dates

It’s great to see Radiohead, (by all means one of the largest rock bands in the world today) pick Brooklyn-based group Dawn Of Midi for their MSG dates here in NY! Dawn Of Midi rose to the public eye through their dazzling improvisation over the use of lock-and-key compositions. Lead by Pakistani, Indian, and Moroccan musicians, their blend of rhythmic structures from North and West African folk traditions woven into a sonic tapestry of trance-inducing grooves, really sets them a part from the jazz world yet undoubtably ties them into the New York experience of worlds coming together, – and are a fantastically envelope-pushing act to prime a stage for Radiohead. It may be sold out, but hopefully video surfaces and we can trance out from home, ya know, unless you’re one of those lucky (and wealthy) ticket holders, than to you I say, lose yourself to dance.
