“While Beach House are back at it, releasing their brand new album Thank Your Lucky Stars and announcing a 2016 Worldwide tour, (dates per their website below) songs like ‘Myth’ still pull on my heart strings. I remember the swirl of guitars and keys immediately grabbing a hold of me, I knew it was Beach House right away. This is the coolest part of discovering music, where you were is accidentally remembered. On ‘Myth’ Victoria Legrand vocals and Beach House’s writing had really come to hit a sweet spot. This was released in May of 2012 and captured our apocalyptic awe in such a sweet and bitter Spring that year, I recall, looping this record a lot. brooding over flowers blooming in Washington Square Park to the swell of 2012 in the cool air. As the record settled in my skin, I was hooked, especially on the continual expansion of live drums to the staple of 80’s era drum machines that I felt was sublime, like an animal merging with a cyborg it was a blend of rawness and precision. Here is a band i’d love to interview. Beach House have become a head space like no other for me. Thank you for the magic you have afforded me to create to.
