Rain JohannesMagazine

Quite easy on the ears, like opening the windows to let in some moist air, “Magazine” will hit you where you feel. With occasional classical / jazz tangents on guitar, Johannes holds up the minimal bedroom song with profound heart stirring soul; going toe-to-toe with brightness and darkness, the sojourner is locked up in a room with a song to sing, and at one moment it can come from the notes you’re not expecting and at another moment it’s emanating from Johannes vocals, mixed feelings wanting to convey a world of hearts on strings and the mind on paper.

“Magazine
Thundercloud coming and it makes me wanna scream
Nobody wants to hurt you
Nobody ever wanted to hurt you, magazine

Baby maybe I can learn to take it easy
Baby just maybe I can learn to break the wall

Magazine
Earthquake shaking and it makes me wanna scream
No you don’t wanna hurt me
No, you never really wanted to hurt me, magazine

Baby maybe I can learn to take it easy
Baby just maybe I can learn to break the wall
You’d think maybe now that we’re so close together
That maybe I could read you, magazine

Backbone’s breaking it makes me wanna
Everyone’s watching
I feel like everybody’s always watching
Magazine.”
