“St.Vincent really worked her way into so many hearts this year. Her tour de force performance at BAM; the highlight of the odd success of what would be to the mainstream, a strange “quirky” indie-femme-fatale in any other scenario. But I think her lasting appeal comes from her depth in all domains, she carries every note she sings with purpose, her live shows and aesthetic are her own voice and in a time of the pulpit of corporate dogma, St. Vincent is unabashedly herself, I can respect that. ‘Prince Johnny’ is a less popular track from her repertoire, I personally love and cannot stop listening to this week, oh Annie, you own my heart too.”
