“After the hypnotic percussion sounds of Tigue‘s epic near 15-minute song brought me and a quickly filling room to our knees, Zula took the stage next to ride up on the high of the duende singed stage. Zula carry a very special dynamic rhythm section that is felt in every instrument, sort of like smart music for people that like to dance. All primed for Haif Waif. The room was filled out by now, and soon some of the singles were played, – hearing the intentions come to life on stage was like watching a bird soar, the band’s groove, the fantastic violin playing, and the clarity of singer Nandi’s voice, was a tribute to the record’s original intention, – playing contemporary classical in a not so contemporary way. The lush sounds and pop elements either made you want to move or made you feel like the end credits of an epic story, the band were in high spirits and joked about the jitters but were jubilant surrounded by a supportive packed crowd at Baby’s, ensuring them they were appreciated.”
