“Here’s a Brooklyn band that have managed to stay away from the pitfalls of acoustic-ambient sounds that fall on duos. Belle Mare is a collaboration between songwriters Amelia Bushell and Thomas Servidone with the addition of Tara Rook (Keyboards), Rob Walbourne (Drums) and Gary Atturio (Bass.) On their new trax “Cicada” they manage to bring a very naturalistic sound into the progression of the song; you can see a creature prepare for flight and feel it’s going to be the greatest insignificance if you weren’t look at that precise moment. They’re on an incredible bill at Cameo Gallery September 4th.”
